Compatibility Specifications
Most of these Latitude models use a standard 7.4mm barrel connector (the “large” round tip with a pin inside). While some newer versions support USB-C charging, the traditional barrel charger remains the most common choice for these specific builds.

The “65W Slim” adapter is highly versatile. It will work perfectly with:
7000 Series: 7280, 7380, 7390, 7480, 7490
5000 Series: 5280, 5480, 5488, 5490, 5491, 5495, 5580, 5590
3000 Series: 3380, 3480, 3580
Why “Slim”?
Dell offers both a “Standard” (brick-style) and a “Slim” (flat-style) 65W adapter.
The Slim version is designed for travel; it fits easily into laptop sleeves and usually features a rubber strap for cable management.
The Standard version is bulkier but often cheaper. Both are electronically identical and interchangeable.
A Quick Warning
Be wary of ultra-cheap, unbranded chargers. Dell laptops are known for “ID Chip” verification. If the laptop doesn’t recognize the charger as authentic Dell hardware, it may display a warning at boot and throttle your CPU speed or refuse to charge the battery
